Mr. Zack Skrepnyk

Hello Red Wings! My name is Zack Skrepnyk and I am so excited to be joining the Penhold Waskasoo Middle School family.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked in high performance sport and athlete development at the University of Alberta and the Alberta Sport Development Center. I then became a strength and conditioning coach at a high school in Edmonton. I had the opportunity to work with multiple sport academies, running the school gym and coaching an Olympic weightlifting team.

During my time in Edmonton, working many amazing youth athletes and students, I was inspired to go back to school to obtain my teaching degree. The last two years I have spent teaching at HJ Cody High School teaching Math, Phys. Ed., Sport Performance and Outdoor Ed. I also coached Senior Girls Soccer. I am honoured and thrilled to move into the role of Athletic Director at Penhold Waskasoo Middle School. I am excited to bring my experience of athletic development to build a strong middle school athletics program!

Outside of school I spend my time with my wonderful family which consists of my two daughters: Olive and Emmerson, my beautiful wife Malynn, and our dog Arrow. I also like to stay curious and learn about new things which can vary greatly from month to month. I enjoy challenging puzzles, a good story and staying connected with nature.
